Modifying ESTA authorization information

Sometimes, the personal information of a traveler holding an ESTA may have changed. Travelers must modify their ESTA to update the information on file.

Can a valid ESTA authorization be modified?

To modify your travel authorization, log on to the official ESTA website. The traveler must click on the website menu to check the ESTA status. This online procedure allows you to change only the contact email address or the postal address of residence in the United States.

For any other information to be modified, the traveler must again apply for ESTA online.

How to correct an ESTA authorization error?

When an error has been made on the ESTA online form, the traveler can try to correct the error in the answers given to the form’s questions. Once the ESTA application has been approved or the ESTA status is pending, the information saved can no longer be modified. The traveler must submit a new request to correct the erroneous personal information. The full ESTA fee will be charged for each new application submitted.
